Supply Chain Forecasting and Planning Manager

Orlando, FL, USA (Onsite)

Position Summary

Thales is looking for a Supply Chain Forecasting and Planning Manager in Orlando, FL, responsible for dependent demand forecasting & planning activities to ensure material availability when and where needed. Success of the role will be measured by metrics such as forecasting accuracy, parts availability, on-time delivery, inventory etc.

In this position, you will have a focus on forecasting, & planning as well as internal/external fulfillment activities as applicable, will be directly accountable for any and all performance of these functional areas and must be recognized as a valued contributor to regional Supply Chain as well as World-Wide Supply Chain community. Our Supply Chain Forecasting & Planning Manager must be able to fuel a $500M+ aftermarket service and support business, focused on driving material fulfillment performance throughout the Supply Chain network. The success of this position is highly dependent on cross-functional coordinate/collaboration and personal commitment. This position is part of global distribution network and will have a high degree of interaction with all global supply chain functions as well as regional/local repair operations, Industrial Engineering, Quality and Retrofit/Logistics/Distribution teams.

Key Areas of Responsibility


  • Grow and optimize Sales and Operational Planning (S&OP) processes to align business decisions, creating the signals for quarterly and yearly component procurement requirements.

  • Lead a team of supply chain professionals to create operational and financial metrics to monitor and continuously improve planning decisions and their impact on availability and cost while developing a strategic planning processes beyond one year, assessing impact on inventory, risk buy, supplier constraints, and the nature of commitments needed for critical supply chain requirements.

  • Responsible for setting proper forecasting/planning/replenishment strategies to achieve/exceed service performance objectives for AGS Supply Chain.

  • Create, develop and maintain forecast methodologies of the available material organized by LRU, SRU and Service Parts, consolidate demand on all material service programs that create the annual demand forecast performance of which can be measured on a week–by-week basis and, support the Multi Year Budget (MYB) process with data gathering, analysis, validation and necessary reports compliant with schedule milestones.

  • Develop, create and maintain an effective planning strategy, create, manage and maintain tools that support the regional demand forecast processes, ensure the proper training of the Forecasting, Planning, & Purchasing associates you manage leveraging both internal and external resources, maximize the use of our enterprise software, SAP and APO planning tools.

  • Supports Warehouse logistics leadership to maintain Non-Conforming-Material stock taking action to address and disposition items in a timely manner keeping such stock ageing to a minimum, while analyzing inventory position and plan against Engineering Change Orders, Service Bulletins, Program Campaigns, and demand changes; implements appropriate inventory actions.

Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years’ previous experience, in supply chain, operations, industrial engineering, or similar field. Master’s Degree in supply chain, industrial engineering, operations, or similar field is preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience required in the areas of demand planning, forecasting, production or materials management + minimum of 1 year of Experience in an MRO (Maintenance and Repair Operations) environment in the Aerospace, Airline, Avionics and/or Electronics Industry.

  • 3 or more years of Forecasting/Demand Planning Management experience overseeing Planners and other department staff and 2 or more years of Experience Managing SI&OP processes and objectives.

  • Experience with SAP APO or similar forecasting tool, used for long term demand planning, experience with MRP analysis and methods using an ERP System, SAP.

  • Certification:  APICS CPIM/CSCP or ISM CPSM a plus.

  • Microsoft word, excel, power point, power BI.

Special Position Requirements



  • Schedule: Core Business Hours Monday-Friday.


  • Physical Environment: Typical office environment.


  • Travel: Up to 20%.
