We have a balanced hybrid working model to ensure you have the flexibility you need. The successful candidate will balance their time between working in the office (minimum of two days) and working from home. 


WHAT YOU WILL DO EVERYDAY


As the Senior Human Resources Consultant, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive Human Resources operational and consultative support to managers and employees on people-related matters in the areas of benefits administration, employee relations and communication, compliance reporting, policy administration, and talent acquisition. Consultant will have in-depth knowledge of generalist functions and broad understanding of other Human Resources specialties. The position will be actively involved in delivering and developing plans, programs, and services that support business needs, foster engagement, and drive performance and productivity, including the development of communication strategies for design and delivery of these programs. This position plays an integral role in driving the credit union as an employer of choice.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT


-               Provide day to day performance management guidance to leaders and employees in the areas of talent and performance management, organization design and development, and change management. Ability to provide advice and guidance to leaders on people related issues; align HR Programs with business strategies; make recommendations to leaders balancing the interests of managers and employees. Partners with HR departmental subject matter experts such as Compensation, Recruiting, Payroll, and Training to provide solutions to support managers and employees.


-               Act as the subject matter expert, administer the implementation and administration of employee benefit programs collaborate with HR Partners to ensure effective delivery and execution of company-wide programs to employees. (i.e., onboarding, annual open enrollment). Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries. Maintains monthly reconciliation reports for various benefits and prepares annual reporting data. Coordinates, plans, and facilitates wellness program. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities.


-               Coach Managers through the employee relations practices necessary to maintain a positive employee-employer relationship that promotes a high level of employee commitment, morale, and retention. Provides guidance on conversations with employees, the employee relations process, and potential legal issues. Advises employees and managers on the interpretation of policies, programs, and procedures.


-               Support employee engagement efforts across the enterprise to reduce turnover rates while enhancing employee productivity. Execute action plans to introduce and reinforce desired culture.


-               Maintains Human Resources documentation and statistical information. Analyzes statistical data and reports on all aspects of employment activity to identify causes of personnel problems. Develops and recommends solutions and improvements as needed in employment policies, processes, and practices.


-               In partnership with the Talent Acquisition Team create, implement, and drive the processes to attract and recruit talent to meet current and future business needs.


-               Promotes a positive relationship between the members (internal and external) and understands that service delivery to our members is the number one priority of Human Resources and the Credit Union.


-               Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED


Experience


8+ years in a progressive HR Generalist/Consultant role with ability to lead, mentor, and motivate others to achieve optimal performance. 


Education / Certifications / Licenses


This level of knowledge is acquired through completion of a required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or related degree required. PHR or SPHR Certification preferred. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.


 PREFERRED SKILLS



  • Proficiency with computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and HRM Systems, specifically Ultimate Software experience is preferred.

  • Expertise in applicable employment laws, benefits and compensation philosophies, employee communication, employee relations, HR best practices, trends, and issues.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to multi-task; must be able to work independently and/or as a part of a team.

  • Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills and the ability to create executive level communications.

  • Ability to provide world class member service while executing Interra’s vision, mission, and delivery of Core Values.

Physical Requirements



  • Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.

  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation.

  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator.

  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.

  • Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management.

  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.


 Working Conditions



  • Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
