Job Description
Primary Function of Position:

The Principal Sales Commissions System & Analytics will be a member of the team accountable for administering the end-to-end compensation fulfillment process for the Intuitive Surgical global sales organization. This process includes administrating, calculating, processing, examining, and reporting sales commission. Specifically, the Principal Sales Commissions System & Analytics position will be required to work with our compensation system, configure new plan changes, maintain employee roster with accurate plan assignments, perform monthly & quarterly maintenance, and have responsibility for compensation inquiries from the sales team.

The Principal Sales Commissions System & Analytics will also need to partner cross-functionally with the Sales, Sales Operations, HR, Contracts, IT, Finance, Accounting, external auditors, and Payroll on all elements regarding the compensation process. This position will be accountable for administration and maintenance of the commission applications and processes to ensure accuracy and to drive enhancements for efficiency & scalability.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Establish exceptional cross-functional relationships with the Sales Operations, Compensation Design, HR, Accounting, and other organizations to ensure business alignment and accuracy

  • Partner with IT to manage the Sales Incentive Compensation System and continue to improve its performance and effectiveness

  • Work within the Sales Incentive Compensation System

  • Reconcile employee sales compensation plans and payments and ensure accuracy

  • Work on special compensation-related projects

  • Research and resolve all commission and bonus inquiries in a timely, accurate, and customer-centric fashion.

  • Provide guidance to design managers and sales teams on commissions plan structures, reports, policy, and other relevant processes.

  • Work with complex data sets to ensure data integrity for compensation calculations and payouts

  • Perform help activities needed for the development, implementation, communication, and administering of sales commissions and incentive programs, plans, policies, and quotas.

  • Provide guidance and training to sales teams on commissions plan structures and reports

  • Experience with Relational Database, and SQL for data manipulation and calculations

  • Project management and leadership of peer teams to drive results and decision-making

Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience implementing, administering and driving complex compensation programs for rapidly growing and international businesses

  • Working knowledge of an Incentive System, financial systems, and business application databases

  • Experience working in high-growth, performance-focused environments and administering complex programs.

  • Deep interest in dissecting data and the ability to see beyond the numbers to drive sound decision-making.

  • Proven, effective, and tactful communications skills (both verbal and written).

  • 2 years of project management and or peer leadership to drive results (or equivalent direct report experience)

  • Ability to manage confidential information.

  • Self-motivated with exceptional relational skills to navigate a wide variety of interactions

  • Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environment

  • Accountability, Synergy, Excellence, Positive energy, Humility, Solution-oriented

  • Experience with Relational Database, ETL processes, and SQL for data manipulation and calculations

  • Working knowledge of Tableau, SQL, and CRM systems (Salesforce.com)

  • Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills


Required Education and Training
  • BA or BS degree (Accounting, Finance or related major preferred)

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Anaplan preferred

Base Salary Range Region 1: $148,300 USD - $213,500 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $126,100 USD - $181,500 USD
Shift: Day
Travel: 10% of the time
Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
