Machining / Tubing Dept. Primarily sets up a wide variety of machines, generally for other operators to run, or sets up and runs Lathes and/or Makino Machining Centers. May also operate machines and/or handle material for operators.
Essential Functions
Required but not limited to:

Performs basic equipment maintenance and daily safety checks as prescribed.
Mounts, installs, aligns, and secures tools, attachments or fixtures to machines using hand tools and precision measuring devices.
Sets up machines and makes adjustments to machine parameters.
Monitors machines and takes corrective action as needed.
May help instruct operators on proper machine operation, process sheet completion, and reading blueprints or bills of material.
Assures pieces and material received for processing and removed after processing are tagged with correct count and identification number, without multiple tags.
Manually or with hoist or crane: loads, unloads, and adjusts placement in the machine of material and work pieces to be processed.
Following prescribed frequency, measures dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures.
Programs and sets up CNC Lathe machines using programs generated by the engineering department
Prepares programs and all tools needed for machining operations
Installs jaws, tooling, programs, enters offsets, and proves out machine
Inspects first run piece and makes offsets as required, spot-checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications (including documentation of results)
Performs other associated duties with machines, programs, tooling, and training of operators needed to continue the productive operation of the company
