Materials Technician - 12 Hour NIght Shifts at Myers Industries, Inc.

Job Description:

Attendance:


  • Candidate must have 2 attendance points or less to be considered for the position.

Safety:

  • Lifting - proper and safe technique to maneuver and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Forklift license maintained current, daily checklists performed, safety-minded operation

Quality:

  • Understands how one's job contributes to the success of the organization as a whole
  • Works in teams and independently.
  • Demonstrate and explain ow to inspect a damaged product.
  • Contribute and participate in corrective action when inventory variance is found
  • Maintain organized quality hold area
  • Manage scrap and materials to be shipped out to recycle companies

Communication:

  • Work in teams to solve problems, complete tasks, and meet shipping schedule.
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems by using problem solving techniques.
  • Technology - use computer to locate and relay information

Document work duties to establish best practices and standardize work processes of Materials Tech

Equipment Operation:


  • Forklift use - accessing the warehouse racks, transporting product safely, proper stacking, loading dry van containers.
  • Hand-held scanners - use to find product, pick orders and maintain labels within the department.
  • Computers- updating shipping documents, printing labels, processing shipments with drivers.

Tasks:

  • Use scan gun to capably move inventory
  • Receive information from the Supervisor about the raw material, color, and components that needs to be pulled to be shipped.
  • When pulling color, verify the 11-digit part number on the color making sure it matches with the color required to be pulled.
  • Weigh the empty containers on the scale for tare weight.
  • Maintain colorant material in storage, put away after properly received
  • Stretch wrap loads to secure as necessary
  • Notify the receiver, letting them know the delivery is ready.
  • If multiple gaylords will be needed, obtain (get) a material sheet to keep a record of the pulled material.
  • Hook up surge bins to correct silo.
  • Make up, pull the amount of gaylords, and accurately weigh materials needed for outsourcing
