Primary Duty: Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment, as well as maintenance of the building, grounds, and utility systems of the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Researches and implements corrective actions to address production line and facility issues.
  2. Manages critical spare parts inventory and ensures availability as needed.
  3. Designs, implements, and coordinates new system upgrades.
  4. Develops preventive maintenance programs in collaboration with engineering and maintenance staff.
  5. Analyzes production, quality control, and maintenance reports to plan and adjust maintenance activities.
  6. Ensures functionality of fire protection systems and conducts regular inspections.
  7. Plans and implements new methods to improve operations and reduce costs.
  8. Collaborates with design engineers on equipment needs and modifications for new product plans.
  9. Procures tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.
  10. Oversees physical plant security and liaises with relevant authorities regarding security matters.
  11. Resolves maintenance issues and recommends improvements in coordination with management, engineering, and quality control personnel.
  12. Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to maintain uninterrupted operations.
  13. Plans, budgets, schedules capital projects; prepares annual budget with Controller.
  14. Maintains TS16949 documentation and serves as the facility Management Rep. for ISO 14001 certification and RMP.
  15. Adheres to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) responsibilities as outlined.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


  1. Manages two subordinate supervisors overseeing Maintenance and Electrical areas, with a total of five employees.
  2. Conducts interviews, hires, and trains employees; assigns work and appraises performance.
  3. Handles disciplinary actions, resolves complaints, and addresses employee concerns.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • Two to four years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in reading technical documents, reports, blueprints, and presenting information effectively.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Prior experience with safety and environmental standards, reporting and permitting in a manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, Kaizen, and TQM.
  • Must be a strong planner, well organized, able to handle conflicting priorities and have experience in managing manufacturing contractors and technical staff.

  • Requires physical activities such as standing, walking, sitting, and manual tasks.
  • Specific vision abilities and abilities to work in varying environmental conditions.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, chemicals, and moderate noise levels.
