Senior Program Coordinator at YMCA OF THE NORTH

Job Description:

1. Job Summary:
The Senior Program Coordinator provides daily program direction and supervises program staff. The incumbent assists in program management which may include but is not limited to marketing, program evaluation, program facilitation, grant reporting, and providing quality customer service. The incumbent hires, trains and supervises staff.
2. Essential Functions:
Provides daily direction in the delivery of programs and supervision for designated program staff.Recruits, hires, on boards, trains and supervises designated staff.Assists in developing and delivering programs working hands-on in the program, as needed.Assists with program management at multiple locations as needed; this may include conducting program observation/evaluations and compliance audits.Assists in marketing and program communication to members, participants and community partners.Acts as a liaison between various program areas, branches, site locations and lead agency partners to implement and assist managing projects and programs which may include youth professional development and leadership.Reviews monthly reports, communicates any budget issues with Program Director and assists with ideas to resolve issues.Performs administrative duties necessary to support the program.Assists in identifying and supporting the grant reporting and implementation process, as needed.Represents the YMCA in the community participating in public relations and promotional activities.
3. Relationships:
This position reports to the Program Director or Executive Director who reports to a Vice President. The incumbent interacts regularly with all levels of employees across the association, including Senior Leadership, Branch and Camp Executives, Directors, and volunteers. The incumbent supervises designated staff.
4. Qualifications:
Required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience working within the program areas of focus.Minimum of 6 months of experience supervising staff.Maintain up to date knowledge of program areas of focus.Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to deliver presentations to various audiences.Good organizational skills.Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.Ability to build strong relationships with individuals and build community within a groupAbility to work with a diverse population.Ability to attend and successfully complete within 90 days of hire: YMCA Healthy Lifestyles (if applicable in program area).
Preferred
BA/BS degree in related fieldMulti lingual

5. Work Conditions:
Ability to travel locally between locations to attend meeting, training and events.Perform all physical aspects of the position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.Ability to recognize and react calmly and effectively in hazardous/dangerous situations.May be exposed to verbal outbursts, physical actions or bodily fluids as part of the environment.Work environments range from quiet work areas to busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces with several groups talking amongst themselves concurrently.Must be able to actively participate in youth games/activities.
