Monitors the process of incoming patient orders and obtains information necessary for our business partners to complete the pre-authorization and scheduling of the patient. Responsible for collecting all necessary documentation, contacting the referring physician or their office for additional information, or to clarify the order. Handles all aspects of scheduling including updates to Scheduling application to reflect physician availability. Liaison between hospital, doctors office staff and specialty clinic. Notifies specialty doctor's offices of patient schedules. Oversight of Prior Auth process daily and alerting Director of Patient Access with issues /concernsResponsible for the completion of the required pre-authorization process for obtaining insurance and approval for walk in patients. Review census stats for our INPT, OBV, Swing and Respite patient, verify benefits, and obtain initial approval for admissions may be required and make notification to UR department.Sends out monthly Outpatient Clinic Calendars with expected times and datesPrints schedules for ancillary and physicians office as requestedComplete the Pre-Registration process for all scheduled patients and ensure active insurance coverageCompletes the Surgery process to ensure we have all presurgical, pre-registration, and authorization completed for each account prior to serviceComplies with all-payer regulations and requirementsProvides backup for Patient Access Representative and Support functions Identifies problems and offers constructive suggestions for improvement within the department, sharing with the Director of Patient Access in a private setting.
