Baking Process Specialist

Detail-Oriented and Analytical. You see the big picture but also dive deeper into the data to ensure all aspects of the process are efficient and meet the highest of standards. Your ability to spot anomalies and issues and communicate the data quickly ensure corrective adjustments can be made.

A Mentor. Passionate about helping others, you have a mentorship attitude and look for opportunities to grow members of your team. You enjoy teaching processes and seeing them put into action in real time.

Self-starter. Taking initiative is part of who you are. You are a person who can multitask and is flexible. Knowing what needs to be done, you need no prompting as you are already on the case.

A Team Player. You have strong interpersonal skills and live by the Golden Rule. Your appreciation of others opinions is always visible. You also communicate well and above all are respectful and patient.

Technically Proficient. A deep understanding of baking processes and formulation is always top of your mind. You understand the equipment and materials required to create a high-quality product.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Procedures and Process Improvement
Partners with mechanical staff to diagnose issues with equipment Assists Quality Assurance with investigations of customer concerns/complaints Implements product process documentation Analyzes and troubleshoots processes for improvement
Research and Development
Leads new and existing product development Understands ingredient properties and functionalities Proactively identifies process/product issues Develops new baking processes and procedures Reformulates all products and specifications
Training and Oversight
Trains and mentors new and existing team members through classroom and on the floor instruction Engages with associates and facilitates positive work environment Maintains baking and safety standards

QUALIFICATIONS
Required
7-10 years of experience in the baking industry Experience in cookie/cracker manufacturing and processing Experience in ingredient functionality Laboratory and plant/manufacturing experience Product research and development experience Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) Proven success in teaching/mentoring/coaching
Preferred
Food Science educated background Lean process experience
Desired
Experience in compound coating and marshmallow production
** This is an in-person position based in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Relocation will be considered for the right candidate. **
