Job Summary:

This position requires a seasoned developer building front office applications. Understanding & implementing good interface design, attention to usability factors and applying “best practice” development methodologies in building FO applications are the integral qualities required for this position. Experience building financial applications.

The position involves implementing the entire SDLC process. It requires the ability to communicate with constituents and understand the requirements, write the specifications including mock-ups of the GUI and finally the developing the software along with other IT team members.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for the following

• Developing sophisticated FO applications




• Implementing and performing rigorous testing of the software that is developed.




• Understanding business requirements and writing specifications




• Building applications as per the specification.




• Administering & work with other teams to handle all batch processing and be able to handle job failures.

Required Qualifications:

• 6+ years with Java experience (SE, EE)




• 3+ years with messaging technologies (JMS)




• 3+ years database experience – writing or dealing with data access layers (SQL Server preferred)




• Experience with Spring and Hibernate
  




• Experience with Maven is a plus.




• Strong architecture & design skills.
  




• Strong communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate ideas, solutions etc.




• Self driven - Ability to lead projects from initiation to completion.




• Strong educational background with BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related area




• Experience building FO EQ applications.(e.g. IOIs platform, Positions and Risk modules..)




• Experience with automated testing tools




• Self driven -- Ability to lead projects from initiation to completion.

Location: New York

The expected base salary ranges from $104K - $190k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
