As the health care landscape continues to change at an unprecedented pace, Independence is implementing new technologies to meet the emerging needs of our customers and members. The Operations Business Analyst

 will be responsible for strategizing and resolving any potential issues related to new technologies, new business processes, or new vendors and systems. The coordinator will be a member of a team responsible for identifying potential challenges and proactively helping to maintain operations and prevent issues as much as possible.

Key Responsibilities:


  1. Categorize known issues from documented learnings of prior projects. Develop inventory of monitoring tools available to Operations. Create missing monitoring tools as appropriate.

  2. Use new and existing monitoring tools to closely monitor the health of specific departments across the business. This includes, but is not limited to, claims, billing, enrollment, EDI transactions, Call Center, etc. Any significant changes in assigned department performance should be reported to the Optimization Manager, validated by the business, logged as problems, and coordinated through the problem management process.

  3. Partner with a machine learning vendor to identify problems. Early and accurate detection of problems will be vital to this team's success.

  4. Narrate the progress of the migration using data-centric tactics. Establish comparative views between new platform performance indicators and old platform performance indicators. 

  5. Support PMR team in other areas as needed.

Required


  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and root causes of problems.

  • Working knowledge of SQL, Tableau or other coding languages/data viz tools

  • Bachelor's degree

Recommended


  • Strong social and communication skills, and the ability to work as a matrixed leader across an organization.

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics or a related field
