Job Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The System Administrator position is primarily responsible for supporting the Information Technology infrastructure at an Aerospace manufacturing site in Garden City for AMETEK.


  • Ensure the IT systems infrastructure and connectivity is maintained to systems hosted elsewhere.
  • Responsible for maintaining Windows Servers/PC's/Laptops to latest MS monthly update
  • Responsible for configuration, maintenance and reliable operation of Servers and all computer systems
  • Responsible for ensuring cybersecurity applications are implemented and running on all Server's/PC's/Laptops and maintain minimum 95% compliance level
  • Manage Ametek user mobile population
  • Knowledge and understanding of NAC (HP equipment)
  • Provide support for the Servers (Windows 2022 and 2016), PCs (Windows 10), PC applications and printers, copiers, scanners throughout the facilities.
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory
  • Install Company approved software (Office 365, Cad Software, etc.).
  • Maintaining compliance with IT SOX, NIST 800, CMMC and Ametek Corporate I.T. policy requirements in conjunction with other AME IT team members.
  • Oversees the administration of the company's LAN
  • Responsible for system backups, archiving of these and disaster recovery (Druva/Veem)
  • Evaluate existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend and implement upgrades or changes
  • Troubleshooting for any IT issues (hardware & software), effectively and efficiently
  • Work with local and wide area network (TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, etc.), wireless/RF devices, Aruba.
  • Manage local business Active Directory environment (users, computers, OU's)
  • Manage onboarding of new hires (equipment configuration, account creation, review I.T. policies)
  • Maintain open communication between service providers, work with user community to evaluate and solve technical problems
  • Develop key relationships with users and develop an understanding of key business processes
  • Responsible for all PC Break and Fix needs including:

    • Maintain all systems, applications, security and network configurations
    • Ensure maximum local system availability and remote connectivity
    • Identify and diagnose software/hardware issues, provide options, recommendations and troubleshooting,
    • Advanced knowledge of computer hardware
    • Maintain/enforce the IT Security policies and procedures.
    • Perform other work related duties and special projects as assigned
    • Telecom/Cellphone support and maintenance
  • Occasional glimpse during off hours required, work hours may need to be adjusted depending on the needs of the business

Education:

Bachelor's degree and/or combination of education and technical expertise suitable for the job responsibilities.

Experience:


  • 10+ years of IT experience in System Administration/Technical support.
  • Knowledge of Desktop applications including MS Office.
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Understanding Nexpose reporting
  • NAC
  • Apple iOS
  • PDQ Deploy (not required but an advantage)
  • 8*8 Admin Console (not required but an advantage)
  • Freshdesk (not required but an advantage)
  • Druva
  • Veem
  • Experience in the support of other peripheral technologies including printers and scanners, projectors, cellphones, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic network issues and escalate as needed.
  • Resourceful and able to take initiative in a dynamic environment

Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service, organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal customers in a corporate environment.
  • Effective communication skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Primarily sedentary to moderate work, exerting up to 10 - 30 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Regularly required to sit or stand, walk, bend and reach.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of speaking, hearing or via other effective means of communication.
  • The use of Safety Glasses is required in manufacturing areas and when working with hand tools.
  • Other PPV such as earplugs, gloves, masks, etc are available, if necessary or desired for certain job functions.
  • Work performed in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Exposed to any number of elements but with none present to the extent of being disagreeable.
