As the Senior Microsoft Exchange Systems Administrator, you will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core messaging functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all networked software and associated messaging systems. The Senior Exchange Systems Admin will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for the design, installation, configuration, management and troubleshooting of the corporate messaging environment
Responsible for the implementation, management and troubleshooting of corporate security platforms as they relate to messaging systems
Develops and monitors security procedures to safeguard messaging systems from physical harm, viruses, unauthorized users, and damage to data
Creates architecture strategies, architecture design and engineering standards, practices, policies, and procedures relating to messaging
Maintains and develops standards for enterprise messaging implementations.
Collaborates with Network Engineers and System Administrators to provide best in class system performance
May perform minor equipment repairs
May be required to be on call or perform after hours emergency work
Evaluates and/or selects new products / services, comprehensive systems analysis, and progressive support methodologies for all messaging applications with management approval
Designs and performs messaging server and security audits, system backup procedures, and other recovery processes in accordance with the company's disaster recovery and business continuity strategies.
Integrates messaging servers, including backup servers and their associated software into enterprise systems
Ensures messaging system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to messaging system configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Ensures compatibility and interoperability of in-house messaging and communication systems.
Coordinates and performs in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems
Gauges the effectiveness and efficiency of existing messaging systems; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree with 6 - 9 years of relevant experience or a master's degree with 4 - 7 years of relevant experience.
Experience with Certificates, Scripting, Mimecast, FireEye, Kemp Load Balance, Kemp MF, Skype, and Linux a plus
Experience client throttling functionality to manage system performance, desired
Experience supporting Exchange Web Services
Demonstrated ability to complete tasks\\projects under minimal supervision.
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and apply new concepts in disciplines.
Demonstrated ability to manage and contribute to a team-oriented workgroup

Expert knowledge of Microsoft Messaging technologies including Exchange, DAG configuration with High Availability Performance, and permission functionality including DNS, Transport, and Routing functionality as it applies to messaging system
Administration Functionality in the Exchange Management Console and Exchange Management Shell
Exchange Control Panel: Text/voice messaging integration
Mailbox and Recipient Functionality
Unified Messaging, Outlook Web application, and Active-sync
Messaging Policy and Compliance
Information Rights Management (IRM) -Protected E-Mail Functionality with Active Directory Rights Management Services
Whitelisting, blocking, syncing, and purging experience
