We are seeking a part-time Law Clerk in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting Garmin's collegial and fast-paced Legal Department with corporate legal issues.
Essential Functions
Provide legal support to Garmin's in-house attorneys and perform legal research
Assist attorneys in review of basic contracts and agreements
Draft documents for attorney review
Assist with immigration and employment matters, general corporate matters, and litigation support activities
Assist with patent, trademark, copyright, and other intellectual property issues
Basic Qualifications
Scheduled to complete at least the first full year of law school prior to summer (will consider 1L's and 2L's)
Proficiency using Westlaw and Microsoft Office products
Demonstrated proficient research skills and knowledge of contract documents/concepts
Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work proactively/effectively with minimal supervision with excellent time management and follow-up skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Demonstrated interest in business and corporate law
Desired Qualifications
Undergraduate Degree in Engineering or an interest in high-tech products
Previous work experience in a corporate environment
