As a Global Strategic Market Manager , you support the definition and implementation of market strategy plans for the Silica business at the segment and sub-segment level. The primary work scope will fall into three primary areas of responsibility: Business Strategy, Marketing Initiatives, and Market/Competitive Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Strategy
Leads development and compilation of overall silica business strategy review (BSR) document.
Supervises macro-trends and identifies correlation to business performance; extracts insights to support strategy refinement/development.
Supports Commercial Directors with strategy execution through project and program management, including working cross-functionally with finance, commercial, and operations
Takes a lead role in investigating white space opportunities and adjacencies to identify new areas for PPG to play and win; quantifies opportunity and clearly articulates how PPG can create new value
Marketing Initiatives
Partners with Commercial Directors to define value propositions and supports creation of comprehensive marketing communications strategy to ensure clear/consistent messaging helping to enable value demonstration and capture.
Works with corporate communications to develop appropriate marketing collateral, including for direct selling and selling via 3rd party distributors.
Supports development of customer presentations that educate on PPG and its silica business, clearly articulate industry trends, and convey PPG value.
Market/Competitive Intelligence
Conducts vital market research to support new product development (NPD) activities; works with Commercial Directors to prioritize NPD initiatives and guides project progression through the Compass system.
Follows media and interprets/reports silica-business impacting news, including earnings releases for key customers and competitors.
Watches changing market dynamics, maintaining the silica "market master" spreadsheet used to validate market size and capacity utilization.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business or applicable technical field, MBA strongly preferred.
8 to10 years' B2B experience across diverse roles with proven progression.
