Job Description:

An Infrastructure Network Engineer designs, builds, manages and supports the network infrastructure that underpins all internal user services and services to Inmar clients.
Supports and maintains infrastructure solutions and services as directed and according to departmental policy.
They work in a team of network infrastructure specialists and engineers making sure services are delivered and used as required. Works with and supports third parties to provide infrastructure services.
Network specialist must be aware of and incorporate security into network designs and have an understanding of network technology including: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data center LAN, SD networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, and network specific security and remote access technologies and approaches.

Primary Accountabilities:
 
Technical (100%)


  • Information security: Aware of information security and the security controls that can be used to mitigate security threats within solutions and services.

  • IT infrastructure: Builds and configures, administers and supports infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, commercial off the shelf (COTS) and open source packages and solutions, virtual and cloud including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.

  • Ownership and initiative: Owns an issue until a new owner has been found or the problem has been mitigated and / or resolved.

  • Problem solving: Able to investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem (e.g. strategic, tactical, operational). Can contribute to the implementation of remedies and preventative measures.

  • Service focus: Takes inputs and establishes coherent frameworks that work.

  • Systems design: Translates logical designs into physical designs. Produces detailed designs and documents all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate. Designs systems characterized by managed levels of risk, manageable business and technical complexity and meaningful impact. Works with well-understood technology and identifies appropriate patterns.

  • Systems integration: Able to build and test simple interfaces between systems, or can work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.

  • Technical understanding: Understands core technical concepts related to their role and is able to apply them with guidance.

  • Testing: Correctly executes test scripts under supervision. Understands the role of testing and how it works.

  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution: Able to troubleshoot and identify problems across different technology capabilities.

  • Modern standards approach: Understands key principles of modern standards approach and how they apply to the work they are undertaking and will apply under guidance.

 
Required Qualification: 


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent work experience required

  • 5+ years of related work experience in network engineering

  • Data Center - Knowledge of designing, implementing, and troubleshooting data centers and all their components.

  • Warehouse and remote office support - Ability to discuss, design and implement new warehouse or remote office deployments and/or refreshing of network gear and design at such facility

  • Design - Ability to discuss, design, and develop advanced addressing and routing, security, data center, and IP multicast complex architectures with VPN and wireless domains.

  • Routing and Switching -Ability to install, monitor and troubleshoot network infrastructure products

  • Security - Ability to choose, deploy, support, and troubleshoot firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS solutions for their networking environments.

  • Service Provider - Knowledge required to deliver a scalable carrier-grade infrastructure capable of rapid expansion to support ongoing new managed services offerings and other customer requirements.

  • Wireless - Ability to design, implement, secure, and operate wireless networks and mobility infrastructures.

  • Skills to assess and translate network business requirements into technical specifications resulting in successful installations.

  • Willing to work in a 24x7 on-call rotation to support the network

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Proficient in G-Suite

Desired Qualification: 


  • Knowledge and working experience in major cloud networks. AWS, GCP, Azure

  • Knowledge and working experience with common automation tools or languages. Ansible, python, bash

  • Knowledge and working experience with SDWAN concepts and administration

  • Willing to travel as part of remote site refresh and upgrades

Additional Information

The national average hiring range for this job is $93886- $125147 and the salary can fluctuate based on geographic location and qualifications. Pay is based on several factors which may include, but are not limited to: education, work experience, certifications, labor markets, etc. This role includes an opportunity for company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Core Company Performance Bonus.

The actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
