Projects the candidate will be working on:
The Healthcare Platform (HCP) Adoption Team is responsible for assisting internal lines of business to move their Healthcare Applications to a centralized platform.
This team will be responsible for analysis of foundational (i.e., legacy) applications, APIs and microservices, determination of need to enhance for the new platform, planning for and completing the development work, implementation planning and execution, and retirement of foundational code.
Members of the team should be well versed in modern Software Engineering practices (API, Containers, IaC, CI/CD, Scrum/Agile, Cloud delivery) and work with both technical and non-technical team members.
Ideal Background:
Must have healthcare knowledge and experience (2+ years).
Team and Team size:
Currently, there are 17 members of the team, with 7 open positions
Teams are individual scrum teams, and have SW Engineering, Coaching, Analysis and Planning, and Enterprise Architecture. There is a variable number of each skill set on each team.
Top Responsibilities:
Analysis of legacy applications/APIs and Microservices to determine issues, performance, usage, resiliency, scalability and financial metrics
Creating plans for addressing issues found above, including decomposition of work into smaller units (tasks)
Build and modify Legacy components, or create new ones using legacy code as a model
Plan for and manage migration to the new code including change management, documentation, and run books
Execute on migration plans and retire legacy or old code
Skills/attributes Required
Writing or consuming web API - 5 years (junior) 8 Years (senior)
Software engineering with demonstrated modern engineering principles - 5 years (junior) 8 Years (senior)
Modernization and enhancement of existing systems - 5 years (junior) 8 Years (senior)
Skills/attributes Preferred
An ability to see the bigger picture; willingness and ability to work with more junior members of the team to help them grow into their new roles (new team that is forming);
Must be willing to follow enterprise standards and practices - this is a highly regulated position, and while there is some flexibility to the how, tools and technologies must be used from an approved list.
