Job Description

Job Summary:

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the Personal Vision Systems (PVS) Division within the Solutions Line of Business. They will work with the sales team to forecast customer demand, manage the material SIOP forecast, and ensure on-time delivery of components and sub-assemblies required for the finished goods production plan. In support of New Product Introduction (NPI), this person will partner with program management and technical teams and play a key role in requests for quotes (RFQs), supplier selection, awarding of business and contracts, and day to day vendor management. The Procurement Specialist will also assist with prioritizing the finished goods production for the Security and Maritime Divisions in the FLIR Santa Barbara factory as needed.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Partner with the Sales team to develop a PVS demand forecast

  • Provide a monthly material SIOP forecast

  • Determine inventory levels to meet inventory turn goals

  • Determine safety stock levels for components, sub-assemblies, and finished goods

  • Work with the Sales Operations team to ensure component purchase orders are placed

  • Manage component, sub-assembly, and finished good strategic partnerships

  • Communicate and escalate any material shortages to management

  • Support PVS, Security, and Maritime finished goods manufacturing in Santa Barbara

  • Oversee all PVS finished goods manufacturing globally

  • Partner with the NPI teams for all future PVS product development programs

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings throughout all PVS products

  • Assist with all PVS sourcing activities

  • Oversee and manage any PVS Supply Chain issues

Job Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a procurement role

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Preferable international experience

  • Will require international travelling

  • Bachelor's degree is required

  • APICS Supply Chain certification is recommended
