Refinery Plant Technician, Cincinnati - Crisco

REPORTS TO:
Production Manager

SUMMARY:
Work in the Process Department operating the Deodorizer or Refinery systems to produce Crisco vegetable oil and shortening. This role is currently an 8 hour shift (non-rotating). Entry pay is $21.48/hr., advance within 6-12 months to $24.40, plus shift differential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).

  • Monitoring and accurately recording temperatures, pressures and rates of flow for upward or downward trends

  • Produce high quality products in a safe and healthy manner.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Flow to the work and assist fellow employees as needed.

  • Loading and unloading trucks/railcars

  • Perform analytical testing with lab instruments

  • Performing required preventative maintenance and assist in the troubleshooting of potential issues

  

QUALIFICATIONS


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 3+ years related manufacturing experience or equivalent technical/vocational experience preferred.

  • Selected individuals must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be highly motivated and responsible, and work well within a team environment. 

  • Use of computers and PLC’s in a food processing manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Experience working with processing equipment is preferred.

  • Must pass Math aptitude.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High-school degree or equivalent is required.  Advanced degree a plus. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as SOPs, process flow diagrams, safety rules, GMP's and general instructions. Good communication skills are required.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out both oral and written instructions.
