We are looking for a full-time Graphic Designer for our headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for providing strategically-focused creative solutions for Merchandising/Tradeshow materials and prepare final artwork for production. This role may also partner with Art Directors and business partners to perform final design on branding and campaign materials. Contribute to improving processes, standards and guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop and visualize multiple design layouts for moderately complex projects in 3D spaces
Partners with Art Directors to bring original concepts to final layout
Prepares layouts for final production, including, but not limited to, printer and vendor specs
Work with appropriate teammates and business partners to identify and define project parameters
Finalize concepts into finished comps for presentation, reviews and approvals
Produce final artwork and incorporate into final layouts
Collaborates and adds value in design reviews
Contributes to improving processes, standards and guidelines
Applies a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities
Works collaboratively and professionally with other Garmin associates and performs as a solid contributor on cross functional teams to achieve goals

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university and 3-5 years work experience performing a substantially similar role OR a Master’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years work experience performing a substantially similar role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Outstanding academic qualifications
Proficient in Mac OS computer skills utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and Keynote
Working knowledge and interest in 3D software, a plus
A portfolio demonstrating exceptional understanding and use of design and layout within the Merchandising, in-store and Tradeshow exhibition space.
Knowledgeable in the application of pre-press production methods and final production follow through
Good working awareness of vast array of methods and resources to implement a concept or idea
Demonstrates strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution experience
Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others
Demonstrates effective time management, organizational and follow-up skills with a keen attention to detail and quality
Demonstrates basic knowledge of Garmin’s organization, customers, market segments, products, operations and strategies
