Job Description:

Montefiore seeksPhysician Assistant (PA)to join their comprehensive Wound Care Program. The practice of a PA shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant that are delegated by the supervising physician.

Under the auspices of Family Medicine, this position allows for seeing patients of all ages, and ability to perform minor procedures including wound debridement.

As part of our exciting and diverse position within a dynamic program, the associate's responsibilities include preforming wound care consults, follow-up visits, and assisting physicians with bedside debridement's and bone biopsies in the inpatient setting. Our dynamic team also conducts nursing home round and participates in the teaching of residents, fellows and medical students.Excellent growth opportunity for outpatient clinic coverage and as a provider in Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. As a teaching hospital, our team is involved with the education of PAs, medical staff and interdisciplinary professionals regarding wound careissues.

Medical services rendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations; ordering and/or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; assisting at surgery; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs; making appropriate referrals.

Education/skills required:

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred coupled with three (3) year' work experience


• Graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program


• Registered as a Physician's Assistant in New York State


• NCCPA certified


• Wound Care or Burn experience strongly preferred


• Wound Care Certification preferred


• Hyperbaric Certification preferred
