Regal is committed to a diverse and inclusive workforce Position Summary: Leads and develops the Material Team of a large plant and typically more complex supply chain (generally defined by a plant/Material headcount of more than 250 employees and/or plant revenue greater than $70M) in all functions supporting the on time delivery of quality materials to the Value Streams to deliver motors and generators to our customers. Responsible for developing the Materials Team and implementing advanced Supply Chain Strategies. Drives a Lean Culture in a high energy team environment.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports.
  • Coordinate material flow both internal and external ensuring availability to meet production schedules.
  • Develops and executes on time delivery, inventory turns, and inventory control, adherence to production plans and cost improvements.
  • Ensures continued employee growth through development.
  • Supports removal of barriers to improve shipping and receiving by facilitating timely transport of materials to the designated work cell within VS.
  • Supports and may establish material departmental budgets; monitors the cost and effectiveness of production planning and scheduling to meet and support customer requirements.
  • Manages and controls inventory investment to set goals and objectives for areas of responsibility.
  • Manages both people and economic resources.
Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Materials Management/Purchasing.
  • 5 years in a leadership role in a Materials role including Commodity Planning, Materials Management, Procurement, or similar function is a minimum.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset and experience exhibiting a working knowledge of processes identified within Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles.
  • Working knowledge of materials systems including ERP, ie. Oracle, SAP or other business recognized systems.
  • Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years.
