Schaeffler Aerospace USA, is seeking Maintenance Mechanic to support our Danbury, CT location. The position will analyze machine trouble and institute corrective measures on all mechanical and hydraulic equipment throughout the plant. Perform a variety of repair work such as scraping, welding, and rebuilding. Dismantle, repair, and assemble intricate mechanism on all machine tools, accessories, and equipment. Improvise effective machine guards and safety devices, and make machine parts, etc. in emergencies. Make sketches of parts to be made by others. Help train employees. Suggest improvements to plant machinery to bring about more efficient operation. Maintain routine records. Assist in tool room and spindle room activities as required. Maintain good housekeeping. Perform other related and comparable duties as assigned.Work under supervision of the department head and routine operational guidance of others. Plan minor details to accomplish desires results. Refer unusual problems to supervisor. Knowledge of a variety of trade practices, repair work of an intricate nature, design of required parts, etc.. Equivalent to a full technical high school education plus several years of trades training. 2 - 4 Years experience. Failure to diagnose machine difficulties promptly and apply effective measures may cause production delays.
