SUMMARY: Serve as a Security Testing Engineer II, working on a large team of driven, supportive, and highly skilled software, database, QA, and production support professionals (working in mostly virtual remote locations) on the Theater Medial Data Store (TMDS) and Medical Situational Awareness in Theater (MSAT) systems for the Department of Defense.

This contract requires the team to design, develop (and integrate other Government Off The Shelf (GOTS), and/or Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products as approved or provided by the Government), test, deliver, then operate and maintain software solutions that will allow users of Military Health System (MHS) applications to seamlessly move between approved applications at the point of care.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • The Security Testing Engineer II works with analysts, developers, and the quality assurance team by scanning software code and ensuring security compliance within the code of a medical logistics project with a minimum of supervision while ensuring the highest security quality assurance and testing standards.

  • Perform Software Code Security Quality Check (SCQC) scanning and analysis of delivered software code

  • Perform analysis of audit scan results

  • Develop, provide, and coordinate scan results with the software developers to properly document analysis and findings

  • Communicate security findings, associated risks and potential remediation to developers and program management

  • Track trends, common categories of vulnerabilities as well as overall number to provide feedback on areas of improvement to the developers and program management

  • Provide SCQC deliverables to support Risk Assessments, Impact Assessments, weekly status reporting and working sessions with the product teams

  • Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions.

  • Fully and completely understand system inter-dependencies and limitations.

  • Assist in the career development of others

  • Exert technical influence over multiple teams, increasing their productivity and effectiveness by sharing your deep knowledge and experience.

  • Lead technical and design discussions with team members to help speed their adoption of new technologies and practices.

  • Writes documentation to describe program evaluation, testing, and correction

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance

  • Equivalent combination of knowledge and specialized experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.

  • Familiar with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for DoD or Federal Systems

  • Experienced in Java

  • Experience SCQC scanning tools

  • Familiar with JIRA and FogBugz

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment with cross functional team members (Database, Quality Assurance, Development)

  • Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to optimize data inputs for best possible outcome

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple milestones and projects efficiently

  • Professional written and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

  • Experience with DoD applications TMDS and MSAT is a plus but not required

  • Previous Psychology, Dept. of Defense (DoD), or Military Health System (MHS) experience a plus.

  • Prior HIPAA training
