Vice President, Underwriting Training, Quality and Audit at Chubb

Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Head of Underwriting and Operations, this position coordinates, oversees and executes the Small Business, Financial Lines and Commercial Insurance initiatives for Quality, Audit and Training, across the organization.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                            


  • Create, sustain, adapt and monitor the Training, Quality and Audit plans, in support of the business divisions’ financial plans.

  • Coordinate training and quality with Sales, Product, Underwriting, Industry Practice and Service Operations groups for each business division within the Underwriting Centers, as stakeholders for this role.

  • Manage, sustain, and support diverse team of training, quality and underwriting professionals who execute initiatives, tactics for the Small Business and Commercial Insurance Underwriting Centers, as outlined in the plans

  •  Manage and oversee the quarterly Self-Audit Process in all Underwriting Centers, for all underwriting business teams, enabling the Mendix Self-Audit tool for reviews, data collection, and reporting functions

  • Create, publish and distribute quarterly and ad hoc reports on quality and compliance audit results; making recommendations based on trends and collaborating with business leaders to implement and improve results for consistent achievement of satisfactory ratings, including Quarterly Management Audit Committee submission, Monthly Operating Meetings, and other essential and appropriate communications of goals, activities and results

  • Collaborate with Business and Underwriting Center leadership and Corporate Learning and Development on training initiatives for experienced new hired employees, professional development for existing staff in support of implementation strategies and tactics for new products, processes and technologies, including transition to the Target Operating Model endeavor, with the variety of underwriting roles and responsibilities, product lines, and

  • Act as liaison and collaboration with Corporate Underwriting Audit team, including the planning, execution and responses coordination of CU’s Audit process, execution, and reporting, as involving the Underwriting Centers

  • Coordinate and support the Chubb Associate Program, as managed in collaboration with Commercial Insurance Leadership, Small Business Leadership and Financial Lines Insurance Leadership

  • Act as liaison to Corporate Learning & Development, representing the various business divisions

  • Other projects and initiatives, as related to learning, development, and quality for the Underwriting Centers, as assigned by the EVP.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • 10+ years underwriting Commercial Insurance, including property, liability, package, auto, workers compensation, umbrella, international, and/or marine lines of business

  • Leadership experience over diverse teams, dynamic situations, and demonstrated skills with strategic thinking, tactical planning, execution and evaluation.

  • Ability to work across diverse organizations, products, and processes for a variety of Commercial Insurance divisions.

  • Demonstrated technical acumen in risk selection, assessment, terms and pricing, including review, coaching or training in these areas. 

  • Experience in file review or audit of commercial policies

  • Ability to think creatively, manage and resolve issues and problems

  • Proven time management skills, communications, interpersonal and negotiations skills

  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, as well as strong collaboration and teamwork

  • Excellent communicator, using multiple platforms and modalities

  • Demonstrated training experience in both technical acumen and professional development skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and other business applications.
