Opportunity Summary:E Tech Group is looking for a self-motivated, technically minded individual with a desire to grow and develop new business for our Mission Critical Team. You must have current experience in selling or executing engineered solutions within the Data Center industry with a proven track record of success. Location is not a critical factor as long as there is access to a large domestic/international airport. It is a plus if you are located in the greater Dallas, TX, or Washington, D.C. area.This position does not have direct reports at this time. You will report to the Director of Business Development with a strong dotted line responsibility for day-to-day communication and collaboration with the Mission Critical Team's Vice President, Program Directors, Project, and Engineering Managers, in order to meet/exceed your order booking target.The BDM is the “quarterback” of the sales pursuit at E Tech Group and is responsible to find and qualify new project opportunities, clearly identify the problem(s) the customer needs to solve, document the benefits to the customer if solved, and develop the pursuit strategy needed to convert these opportunities into wins. This requires a high degree of “confident humility” in working within the E Tech Group organization, as well as, clearly communicating the problem-solution-benefits to the customer's key stakeholders which include, but are not limited to engineering, operations, IT, finance, and executive management.Our Business Development Managers receive a competitive base salary, full expense reimbursement including mileage at current IRS rate, and an un-capped commission plan that pays commissions at the time of order booking regardless of execution schedule.E Tech Group has 14 offices across the US, including our headquarters in West Chester, OH. The primary focus will be aggressively pursuing new opportunities in the data center industry for PLCs, HMI's, Panel Builds, and Industrial IT/OT solutions. We provide comprehensive solutions for customer's controls, electrical power monitoring & information needs using all of the top names in the industry, like Rockwell Automation, AVEVA/Wonderware, Inductive Ignition, Siemens, Schneider Electric, GE, and more. In addition, your creativity and ability to “think outside the box” regarding new service offerings and solutions E Tech could be offering is fully encouraged and supported.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build upon and assist in protecting our current $45M base of business by developing new client relationships and expanding the portfolio of business with current and new Data Center clients and partners; this includes selling all aspects of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) projects including Project/Program Management, Consulting/Design Engineering, PLC based control systems & HMI's, and other Automation Services.
  • Listen to customer issues and suggest solutions to address those issues. Solution Selling.
  • Call on end users, general contractors, & engineering firms to get engaged early in the process.
  • Develop value based technical proposals, pursue, and close project orders.
  • Provide and maintain forecasted bookings and opportunities pipelines with the appropriate services and materials mix.
  • Develop and manage key and strategic partnering relationships with vendors and / or subcontractors as they are required to serve market needs.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and self-prioritize tasks
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales goals
  • Experience selling PLC, HMI/SCADA, Historian, and/or software or services solution
  • Strong Data Center Industry knowledge and operational/technical solutions currently in use by industry customers
  • CRM system experience
  • BS Engineering / Business, Technical degree, or equivalent education or work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industrial automation and controls industry with at least 3 years of direct experience in the Data Center Industry
  • Willing to travel - 40% to 60%
