There, we design, engineer, manufacture and deliver technology solutions for the most important needs of our time.

CAES Lansdale is a leading supplier of integrated RF solutions and high power, solid state broadband transmitters for EW and Radar applications; antennas and precision positioners both for standalone aperture and positioner requirements; as well as integrated sensor systems across many high-performance applications.

In this Test Engineer role is you'll build capabilities in designing, developing, and implementing test software and the techniques to support integration, qualification and acceptance testing of electronic assemblies, subassemblies and systems for use in electronic warfare systems. Interfacing directly with our customer is required.

Our engineering team is comprised of 100+ engineering professionals including systems, software, RF, power amplifier, antenna, mechanical, reliability, test engineers and other specialties. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, we have engineers across multiple locations in the U.S. giving you the opportunity to work collaboratively across sites. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong engineering and programming curriculum who has an interest in test engineering across a diverse product portfolio through all stages of the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide test software engineering expertise and support while working collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-site teams as needed to achieve customer satisfaction and operational excellence delivering results supporting business improvement objectives.

  • Design, develop, and implement robust and reliable test software solutions to interface with complex RF subsystems and assemblies in support of a fast-paced product development environment.

  • Implement hardware/software protocols & engineering tools for new product development

  • Develop application test software for multi-board/processor systems with both FPGAs and CPUs

  • Design, develop, and implement intuitive communications interfaces between equipment and the user

  • Assignments are broad and may include developing/evaluating new techniques/plans/procedures.

  • Perform technical assignments of an investigatory nature requiring minimal direction from senior engineering personnel.

  • Interfacing directly with customers to provide suggestions/support to ensure design compliance with requirements

  • Support Engineering and Operations with testing outside the normal test process, create test setups and test procedures as required.


Qualifications

Minimum:


  • Associate's degree in electronics and two (2)+ years of experience working in a test environment OR BSCE, BSEE in Electrical, Computer, or Electronic Engineering.

  • 0-2 years of experience and/or classes related to course work developing code in VisualBasic.

  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred:


  • Two (2)+ years' experience with developing automated test procedures and instrument drivers.

  • Experience in developing software in VB or C# using MS Visual Studio .NET.

  • Proficient in utilizing software debugging and integrity check tools.

  • Experience writing software to automate acceptance test procedures.

  • Working knowledge in common HW interfaces/data protocols (e.g. TCPIP, UDP, RS-422, USB, CAN, GPIB).

  • Knowledge in the design/development/integration of software drivers for integration with hardware.

  • Experience in the measurement and analysis of RF signals in the microwave and millimeter wave domains using various measurement instruments (PNA, Spectrum Analyzers, RF Network Analyzers, etc.)

  • Familiarity with DoD industry and DSS security procedures (NISPOM).

  • Active DOD security clearance (Secret or above).
