The Evaluation Coordinator within the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion within the College of Public Health will provide full-time support in carrying out the evaluation activities associated with a five-year, federally funded grant aimed at addressing factors associated with social unrest (e.g., community and individual trauma, disenfranchisement, and unemployment), especially among youth, in six Philadelphia neighborhoods. The position will involve working collaboratively with community members and numerous government and non-government organizations to gather data on community engagement in the initiative and various other performance measures. The Evaluation Coordinator will report directly to the Evaluation Director, Dr. Mark Salzer.

Primary responsibilities will include establishing and implementing evaluation data collection plans and measures, serving as the evaluation liaison with key stakeholders and community partners, attendance at various community-based events and meetings, engaging community partners in evaluation activities, developing information on the basics of conducting community-based evaluation, in-person data collection, including key informant interviews and focus groups, basic quantitative and qualitative analyses, report and manuscript writing, literature reviews, and other activities required by the federal funder. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with a macro emphasis, Public Health or related field and at least 2 years work/internship experience in social-sciences research or evaluation activities, including: collaborations with community partners, participant recruitment and data collection, database creation, qualitative analysis and coding, basic quantitative analysis, report writing or manuscript preparation. Master's degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Must possess strong critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills

*Must be able to work with a variety of populations, including adolescents and young adults

*Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication abilities in English

*Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and work independently

*Experience with qualitative or quantitative data collection

*Must be proficient with MS Office suite

*Experience working collaboratively and effectively with a broad array of community stakeholders from diverse backgrounds

*Must be reliable and punctual, with an ability to work a limited number of evenings and weekends, on occasion

*Experience with diverse, low-income, urban neighborhoods (e.g., working or living in such neighborhoods)

Preferred:

*Master's Degree in Social Work (macro emphasis), Public Health or similar field with at least 2 years of experience in social sciences research/evaluation. Knowledge and experience in community organizing and development is preferred. Familiarity with Philadelphia neighborhoods is also preferred, especially neighborhoods in North and West Philadelphia.

This is a grant funded position.

Please note this position will temporarily work remotely, the duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.
