Position Summary:
The Manager, Accounting role will be critical to the success of the Finance team and will support the rapid growth of our business. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Accounting, the Manager, Accounting will manage and support various areas of general ledger accounting, including monthly close, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash and investments, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Manages one or more general accounting areas, such as cash and investments, fixed assets, accounts receivable, accounts payable.

  • Supports the Company's monthly close process, including reviewing monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, performing variance and trend analyses, researching transactions for proper accounting treatment, preparing financial reports, completing rapid period-end closes and meeting all required deadlines.

  • Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysis and reporting.

  • Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data.

  • Participates in annual audits and special projects, including system implementations; works with external consultants and auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.

  • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Coordinates and hold inter- and intra-department meetings and develops and maintains strong working relationships with business leadership and staff.

  • Supports budgeting and forecasting


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university in accounting or a related field.

  • 8-12 years of related corporate accounting experience with increasing responsibilities in a large public company and/or Big 4 National Public Accounting firm, including 2-5 years of accounting lead or management experience.

  • Broad and in-depth knowledge of GAAP and other accounting and reporting standards.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Knowledge of Oracle or other large ERP.

  • Effective communication, analytical, research and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a dynamic high-performance environment.

  • Ability to work under pressure of deadlines and commit to overtime as necessary.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous system implementation experience is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge of Tableau and FCCS is desirable.

  • Knowledge of data analytics tools.


Functional Description

      • In some instances may be responsible for a functional area or contracted / outsourced employees or matrixed reports.

      • People management responsibilities include hiring / terminations, performance reviews, career development coaching and compensation decisions.

      Experience and Education


      • Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 8-12 years of industry experience.

      • 2-5 years of previous management or lead experience.


      Workplace Type

      • The Workplace Type for this role is Flex. Based on the nature of your position you will be working onsite approximately 2-3 days per week from collaborative space and hoteling desks at our Dexcom sites. You will need to be located within commuting distance (typically 75 miles/120km) of your assigned Dexcom site.
