This position is well-suited for an individual who is enthusiastic in leading and contributing to all stages of a variety of innovative and challenging water and natural resource planning and design projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:



  • Developing hydrologic and hydraulic models to support planning and design;

  • Performing watershed investigations and studies for flood mitigation and resiliency planning;

  • Supporting development of engineering designs and construction plans for infrastructure improvements, including green infrastructure;

  • Supporting development of stream restoration plans and studies;

  • Supporting development of water quality models to support planning and design;

  • Supporting the analysis and design of flood control facilities, such as dams and levees;

  • Performing surface water field investigations;

  • Managing, evaluating, and summarizing monitoring data;

  • Reviewing state and federal regulations & permits pertaining to surface water; and

  • Preparing technical reports.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:




  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.


  • Fieldwork: Up to 20% (Public, client, & company Covid-19 safety procedures are followed)


  • Overnight travel: Up to 5% (Public, client, & company Covid-19 safety procedures are followed)

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE



  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering. (required)

  • Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering or natural resources science. (preferred)

  • Passed Fundamental in Engineering (FE) Exam (preferred).


SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • Prior internship experience in environmental or engineering consulting. (preferred)

  • Experience with using range of surface stormwater hydrology and hydraulic models (e.g. HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM, HydroCAD). (preferred)

  • Experience or familiarity with design and mapping software (AutoCAD and ArcGIS). (preferred)

  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
