Position Summary


Titanium Metals Corporation (TIMET) is one of the world's largest fully integrated titanium producers. Since 1950, TIMET has been leading the industry in mill and melted products, supplying nearly one-fifth of the world's titanium.

TIMET has a global network of service centers supported by its six primary melting and mill facilities in Henderson, Nevada; Toronto, Ohio; Morgantown, Pennsylvania; Witton, England; Waunarlwydd, Wales; and Ugine, France.

SUMMARY

Manage the future production loading of the Melt shop to include interfacing with customers both internal and Trade to ensure order dates meet plant capabilities by grade, quality, and production path. Manage planning and execution of production, and orderly movement of titanium ingot & sponge, and its related by-products from raw material through shipment to customer. Manage on site Logistics and Stores departments to ensure all incoming materials are properly inspected and received, all outgoing shipments are packaged and documented, and all internal material movements are completed in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

-Communicate direly with customers to clarify/change orders per production requirements.

-Travel to customer sites to discuss future order profiles

- Acknowledge customer orders in SAP consuming current and planned available material and resource capacity to support forecast objectives in a timely manner as defined in TIMET's global metric requirements.

- Monitor and measure trade sales to forecast using SAP's Projected Weight & Revenue report.

- Load manufacturing resources to support product, material, and melt planning objectives as defined by the Manager, North America Planning.

- Monitor and analyze resource capacity for level loading, and order acknowledgement utilizing SAP's Resource Load report.

- Forecast and plan material requirements to support production loads, forecasts, and material objectives utilizing SAP's Production Demand Report.

- Requisition in SAP raw material purchases to support production requirements, forecasts, and planned stocking levels.

- Requisition in SAP Morgantown electrode & ingots purchases to support customer demand, material plans, inventory objectives, and to facilitate melt shop loads.

- Formulate sponge blends to support sponge sales, and ingot requirements.

- With guidance from SAP's New Make report, formulate ingot heats in accordance to customer requirements, and to facilitate melt shop efficiencies.

- Prepare SAP process orders modifying the materials, resources, routings, quantities, and dates as necessary to meet customer requirements, and to allow accurate product costing.

- Use SAP's Work-To-List reports to prioritize production department work load to support customer on-time delivery.

- Track production utilizing SAP's Schedule Adherence report to ensure proper planning execution.

- Expedite production as necessary to meet scheduled deliveries, accommodate schedule changes, and to meet changes in the manufacturing environment.

- Manage, track, and report production reporting errors to ensure process order settlement is accurate, to update master data, and to provide feedback to manufacturing on performance.

- Settle SAP process orders after production, and prior to shipment.

- Deviate metal in SAP as called out in the deviation policy.

- Participate in the material review board for the review and disposition of deviant and scrapped material.

- Dispatch orders through GKN for shipment consolidating for full truckloads when possible.

- Manage inventory to ensure accuracy, meet turns objectives, and limit obsolescence.

- Manage unallocated & deviated inventory using the SAP's Plant Unallocated Inventory report to ensure adherence to TMET's global metric requirements.

- Model inventory impact for different "what-if" production scenarios.

- Participate in the physical inventory count, and reconciliation.

- Prepare weekly and monthly production control reports and graphs, as well as manufacturing and materials support analysis as needed.

- Maintain SAP master data for materials, routings, bill-of-materials, and MRP requirements utilizing SAP feedback reports.

- Monitor and analyze the transportation and warehousing of materials and inventory.

- Supervise transportation and warehouse hourly and salaried personnel.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Shipment of products to customers on-time, maintain inventory targets, meet trade sales forecast requirements, adherence to melt & material plans, adherence to standard business practices & operating procedures, meet TIMET's global metric's goals, and the level loading of manufacturing resources to balance materials & maximize efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Strong leadership skills with ability to work with minimal supervision.

Knowledge of modern production control concepts and techniques.

Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be detailed oriented.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline.

5+ years' experience in Planning or Production, or Supply Chain Management in metals manufacturing preferred

SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong PC skills utilizing Microsoft Office software

SAP experience preferred

Ability to use and understand BOM, ERP, MRP, and JIT systems.

Prior inventory management and planning experience a plus.
