Description:

The Emergency Department Administrative Director oversees, with the Emergency Department Medical Director the daily operations of a busy 24/7 emergency service expected to serve 45,000 patients this year from a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population. Predominantly administrative in nature, this full-time position also includes clinical practice requirements. An experienced, masters prepared (MBA/MNA) Emergency Medicine nurse manager or Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant with extensive clinical and administrative experience in Emergency Medicine. Under the guidance of the senior clinical management team and in collaboration with the Emergency Department Medical Director, the Administrative Director will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of the department’s ongoing service delivery system and redesign efforts. Full time, 40 hour/week position, Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00pm, but will require flexibility depending on the needs of the department.

Education

• Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant or masters prepared nurse manager


• Nurses with extensive Emergency experience or supervisory experience

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care


• Minimum of 5 years of progressively more responsible supervisory and management experience ideally in an Emergency Department or in Critical Care


• Experience applying Lean concepts to clinical workflows a plus


• Experience serving a diverse patient population preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word; Electronic Medical Records)
