Job Description

Danfoss is seeking a Controls Engineer to join AAIM Controls, Inc., a unit of Danfoss, LLC specializing in the design and manufacture of power controls, automation solutions, and embedded microprocessor control products for equipment in the industrial refrigeration industry. This position will support global R&D product development and design solutions that operate industrial refrigeration machinery.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

• Programming of WAGO PFC controllers


• Model and test algorithms using Simulink and export to various platforms.


• Design and supervision of the construction of first prototypes of new design concepts


• Assist with embedded micro controller projects


• Carry out testing of software and do failure analysis when needed.

Background & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Software or Electrical Engineering


• Proven experience in embedded programming (e.g. C/C++ language)


• Working knowledge of Linux and comfortable at the command line level

• Experience with MQTT, HTML and database programming


• Working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.


• Familiarity with practices of electronics engineering - circuits and systems, electronics, digital systems, electromagnetics, and communication protocols (CAN, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP)

• Excellent communication skills - orally & written


• Results-oriented and "hands-on" approach. Possess strong organization skills, strong customer focus and orientation


• Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously


• Solid knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook


• Exposure to multiple disciplines in addition to electrical engineering (e.g. mechanical)
