Job Description:

Job Purpose
The High School Teacher - Faith Formation is responsible for preparing daily lesson plans and implementing those plans to guide students in the acquisition of the knowledge and skills in a specific content area.. Establishing trusting relationships, the High School Teacher serves as a model for academic and skill development, character and faith formation. The high school teacher is expected to maintain classroom discipline so as to ensure students can learn, feel safe, and participate fully in the learning experience.
Essential Responsibilities


  • Support a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment

  • Perform daily data monitoring of student academic, social, character and spiritual progress

  • Hold students to high academic and behavior standards.

  • Embody and demonstrate a loving, Christ-like character

  • Support students through one-on-one meetings and tutoring

  • Track and maintain up-to-date records of student academic achievement, behavior, attendance, homework, and assessments

  • Monitor students during gatherings, lunch, arrival and dismissal

  • Provide basic support for educational technology

  • Perform Other Applicable Duties as Assigned

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree required in content area to be taught or equivalent

  • 1-3 years of job experience in education preferred

  • Experience navigating curriculum and an understanding of pedagogy

  • Experience navigating databases and querying database to inform actions


  • Proficient with technology including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Access a plus

  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of professionals, internal and external
