The Project Manager (PMO) role is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, administering, executing and monitoring projects, programs and initiatives across various functional areas of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority. Responsibilities will also include supporting service delivery on behalf of the Project Management Office (PMO), including but not limited to assisting in organization-wide Project Management training, coaching employees in Project Management, and conducting knowledge sharing activities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Plans, directs, administers, executes, monitors, manages and closes multiple projects, programs and initiatives across various functional departments, as directed by leadership. This role will not work on projects in only one functional area (e.g., IT) but will work on projects across the entire organization.
Administers the scope, budget, schedule and deliverables for any assigned projects and communicates project status to all stakeholders via email, software programs, conference calls and/or meetings.
Manages contracts, project budget (forecast/actual) and project hours with outside vendors and sub contractors.
Supports Project Management training development, refinement, delivery and maintenance to the organization, on behalf of the PMO.
Proactively advises and coaches functional areas and non PMO staff on the basics of Project Management, as well as RDU's Program and Project Management Policy and Procedure.
Provides multifaceted Project Management assistance to other Project Managers in order to increase the likelihood of successful project or program outcomes.
Supports PMO efforts to develop and refine Project Management tools, templates, techniques, resources, and knowledge sharing methods.
Performs related work as required.
Functions as a liaison between management, staff, stakeholders, tenants, business partners and outside vendors.
Provides various Project Management services across the Authority to ensure project success from project initiation to successful deployment.
Works with business stakeholders and/or functional areas to manage and report on assigned activities throughout the project lifecycles. Keeps functional areas and leadership apprised of statuses of projects.
Ensures the communication of changes, enhancements, and modifications of requirements are properly documented – ensures issues and solutions are understood by all stakeholders.
Applies lessons learned and best practices from completed projects to support continuous improvement and change management.
Leads regular project and/or cross-functional team meetings and ensure information is shared appropriately with leadership team.
Performs related work as required.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
In addition to possessing solid project management skills and experience, our ideal candidate for the Project Manager role will have the capacity to work up and down the organizational chart across various departments within the organization and while offering guidance and standards in the execution of projects.
Knowledge of:
Project Management best practices, tools, techniques, approaches and methods.
Program and Project Portfolio Management.
Project budget management tools and spreadsheets.
Procurement, contracts and invoice management processes.
Report writing and project analytics

Collaborating with functional managers and other Project Managers to ensure all required data for making decisions and for completing required reports is complete and available.
Translating forecasts, analyses, best practices and project team feedback into recommendations and deliverables.
Contract management and contract administration

Provide Project Management leadership on large, complex, and multi-disciplinary projects and programs which have significant impact to the Airport’s strategy.

Advise and coach functional staff in the areas of project planning, scheduling, tracking, communicating, stakeholder management and cost tracking.

Provide specific Project Management training across the organization on behalf of the PMO, in order to help improve the Project Management maturity level of all staff.
