If you are a measurement science professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our Chanhassen, MN location, you will support nearly every phase of engineering and production by performing calibrations of simple to complex test and measurement equipment.

AS A METROLOGY TECHNICIAN, YOU WILL: 

• Operate various laboratory standards, equipment, and software to perform calibrations according to established processes and procedures


• Record calibration results into an online calibration management system, identify equipment that fails calibration, use necessary means to return equipment to required specifications, or disposition equipment as requiring repair


• Work in both a laboratory and a manufacturing environment


• Follow established quality & safety policies


• Assist in identifying revisions to calibration procedures


• Assist in determining appropriate laboratory standards required to perform calibrations; where none exists, assist in identifying an appropriate external laboratory with the required capability


• Assist in giving guidance to equipment users, engineers, and other technicians in the proper operation of test and measurement equipment

WHO YOU ARE:

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• 1800 hours of technical education or equivalent


• Three (3) years of related experience


• Legal authorization to work in the United States – Work sponsorship will not be provided for this position

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

• Military occupational training and experience in calibration such as PMEL or TMDE is preferred


• Experience with FLUKE® MET/CAL® and/or COMPASS® for Pressure Software is preferred
