How You'll Make an Impact

You will have an active role in developing tools for assessing and augmenting human performance within a fast-paced, collaborative team. We are looking for a Front-End engineer who is motivated to explore, design, and implement interactive systems of the future. Responsibilities will include development of innovative user interfaces that enable users to interact with data and solve data-centric problems. You will work collaboratively with scientists, UI/UX designers and engineering teams, taking an active role in both design and engineering and will shape applications looks as well as how they function.



You will work within the entire engineering lifecycle, including software requirements analysis, detailed design, implementation, and test of individual software modules along with development and testing of software systems and software applications.





You'll Need

Experience with:


  • Architecting applications with a focus on performance, modularity, reuse, and maintainability

  • Developing multi-page web applications that make use of frameworks such as Angular or React

  • Developing web applications that process and display large amounts of information

  • Web socket development as well as sending and receiving data from a message bus

  • Visualization or mapping libraries (e.g., D3)

  • User interface design and implementation

  • Proficiency in C#, C++, and Java programming languages

  • Network programming and demonstrated experience using TCP/UDP.

  • Experience with DIS/HLA or other modeling and simulation protocols

  • Familiar with software engineering tools (e.g. IDE's such as NetBeans, Visual Studio, version control including Gitlab, etc.).

  • Rapid prototyping and Agile development methods




Minimum Requirements


  • U.S. Citizenship required or the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field

  • 3+ years' experience in related technical field

  • Familiarity with modern front-end web technologies including HTML5, JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular and CSS

  • Strong analytical, problem identification, and reporting skills

  • Excellent communication skills




Working Conditions (ADA accommodations may be sought):


  • Ability/willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time

  • Ability to work on-site at a government installation
