NXP Global Sales & Marketing (GSM) is the Go-to-Market organization for NXP’s business units. We own the customer relationships and thus ensures customers’ needs are met and NXP growth ambitions are achieved by identifying and creating opportunities for customers to innovate in focused markets using NXP’s diverse product portfolio.

Job Summary:

As a Field Application Engineer, you’ll be a key contributor for the promotion and deployment of emerging use cases based on the UWB and the NFC technologies. You will belong to the Customer Application Support team in charge of Secure Embedded Transactions and Fine Ranging applications covering the Americas Region and part of a worldwide technical community providing premium pre and post sales technical support to NXP customers and their projects. You drive demand creation and design-in activity at customer sites in close cooperation with the NXP business lines; you provide technical skills & support to NXP’s sales staff and will liaise with the NXP technical community about technical issues and future roadmap of your customer(s). We rely on you to deliver the NXP value message in a persuasive and accurate manner, in order to increase our market share.


  • 100% Accountable to drive design wins in their target accounts

  • Leads proof of concept, solution design and demonstrations to secure NXP out solutions the competition and secures the win

  • Synthesizes customer and competitive insights to improve product definition and roadmaps

  • Project manages the NXP design in campaigns for assigned customers to ensure early involvement in the customer’s technology roadmap and continuous and timely flow of information to all necessary parties within the BL and customer

  • Fully understands how ecosystem solutions can position NXP in the best possible manner

  • Qualifies sales opportunities in terms of customer technical requirements and establishes NXP's value proposition/position relative to the competition

  • Qualifies the value of NXP's products (strengths versus competitive products) and quantifies the technical benefits derived from choosing NXP

  • Owns the block diagram process to ensure broader technical team understands the full system requirements

  • Delivers ongoing formal and informal knowledge sharing and product positioning that helps assigned accounts understand the operational, financial, and business impact of NXP solutions within their practice areas

  • Successfully builds relationships with sales team members, business lines, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives

  • Analyzes customer's technical objectives through the use of relevant data gathering techniques enabling the sales team to be more predictive, effective and responsive to customer needs

  • Assists in educating Field Sales Engineers on new technologies, new product features and their related business value

Required Qualifications:

In that role, you will be responsible for the promotion and deployment of NFC and UWB technology and solutions at our key customers and partners.  

For that purpose, you will need to own  :


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the development or application engineering support of Embedded Software systems. A genuine experience with NFC or UWB software stacks and their related specifications or protocols is a key differentiator and will be assessed in details during the interview process. when claimed in the candidate application.

  • Comprehensive programming skills in C, Java and scripting languages and a fluency in Android and/or RTOS environments.

  • Education and ideally working knowledge of  companion Wireless communications like BLE, WIFI and , UWB) is a definite plus.

  • Passion for working with Customers and participating to the development of innovative solutions in the area of Location Based services, Access Control and Secure Payment. A proven experience in one of the above domain is a differentiator.

Education

  • MS Degree in Software or Electrical engineering.
