Home Lending D&A (Data and Analytics)

Chase Home Lending is one of the lines of business under CCB (Consumer & community Bank) which provides financial services in a wide variety of mortgage products. Being one of the top mortgage providers in the U.S., we have large amounts of data available for analytics, reporting, and modeling. We also have an experienced dedicated data team that supports us in all these efforts.

Working for Chase Home Lending data modeling team provides the opportunity to be exposed to different aspects of the business (from marketing, to originations, servicing, and...), to understand the linkage between them, and make creative machine learning models and reports that will have a real life measurable impact on customer experience and the business.

The Vice President Data Scientist Lead is responsible for supporting the team to:


  • Plan, develop, and execute analytical projects using different techniques.
  • Understand the problem statements, find the best course of action, and be creative.
  • Collaborate with the business, developers, managers, and other stakeholders to implement the models, deliver the analytics, and integrate the new discoveries into existing models.
  • Learn quickly about different aspects of the business as well as different modeling methods.
  • Manage diverse book of work effectively.
  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the new and/or existing models.
  • Deliver the models and analytics on-time.
  • Continuously improve the models and automate the reports and procedures.
  • Effectively organize the codes and document the models.
  • Explore new data, techniques, and environments in order to enhance current models and processes.
  • Articulate the model results and analytical findings in concise and clear manner using presentations and visualizations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in analytical fields (e.g. Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics)
  • Extensive work experience and knowledge on both supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms. Experience working with XGBoost, Random Forest, and Deep Learning is preferred.
  • Thought leader in analytics and data science who can define clear goals and roadmaps for projects.
  • Experience with various modern analytics and data tools specially R and/or Python, Alteryx and/or SPSS Modeler, SQL, and Hive.
  • Strong knowledge and experience on model evaluation methods and techniques.
  • Being excellent in teamwork, problem solving, and out-of-the box thinking.
  • Experience with data visualization techniques and big data technologies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with experience on documenting the models and procedures in an organized manner.
  • Ability to multi-task, keeping multiple projects on track, and deliver results on-time.
  • Mortgage or financial services background is preferred but not required.
