Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics System sector is currently hiring a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer. This is a remote opportunity however, candidate must be located within 15 miles of the Norwalk, Los Alamitos, or Santa Fe Springs, CA area. Position requires extensive travel in this area. Position also requires ability to fly commercially on very short notice to meet company commitments.

Essential functions:
Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management. Develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems. Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures. Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues. Supports the maintenance of the approved supplier list and periodically reviews supplier performance to determine whether suppliers should remain on the approved list. Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process. Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks. Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases. Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs. Manages implementation of Supplier Quality processes, including supplier approval activities, source selection evaluations, supplier classification designation (Critical, Key and Standard), development and execution of supplier quality risk assessments and mitigation plans, and supplier quality requirements development and flow-downs.



Qualifications:




Basic Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's degree AND 5 years of quality experience OR a Master's degree and 3 years of quality experience
• Must be located within 15 miles of the Norwalk, Los Alamitos, or Santa Fe Springs, CA area
• Must have the ability to travel up to 100% of time
• Must have a Valid State Driver's License to operate a personal motor vehicle and own a dependable motor vehicle to travel to local suppliers

Preferred Qualifications:

• AS9100 Auditing experience
• AS9102 First Article inspection
• Active DoD security clearance
• Proficiency in MS Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
