We are looking for a talented Media Director to lead General Mills into the future by evolving how we define, think, and activate media. In this role, you will drive media forward by delivering top-line growth through innovative, breakthrough and scalable media led initiatives. You will continuously develop a team of experts who to advance our media capability as an envied competitive advantage. You will drive effective media plans for today while building media capabilities for the future.
This role reports directly to the Chief Brand Officer
Direct reports include Media Managers, Media Operations and Performance Marketing
Owner of Media Agency relationships
Key Partners include Brand Experience Directors, Commerce Marketing Director, Ecommerce Director, Creative Director, and Consumer & Market Intelligence Leaders
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspires curiosity about media, the changing media landscape as well as innovation and ideas that it can drive
Fosters an environment of learning, experimentation and innovation
Has a strong POV and designs best practices and capabilities that are delivered across the enterprise
Oversees media strategies, media innovation and execution for General Mills globally, across all brands
Leads, manages and inspires internal & external teams to develop plans that connect to our consumers, driving deep engaging experiences
Cultivates and manages strong Media agency relationships for the enterprise
Cultivates and manages priority Media Publisher relationships for the enterprise
Serves as a bridge between brand building ideas and commerce activations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred
Minimum of 10 years Media experience
Minimum 5 years Media experience in digital, programmatic, and innovation
Recent experience leading a large team
Experience successfully setting agency and media landscape direction, including agency-wide initiatives, evolving how teams go to market, and driving industry-changing thinking
Extensive knowledge of media and the media landscape
Extensive experience in media strategy, planning, buying across multiple media channels
Extensive experience in influencing, coaching and leading teams through changing landscape and the evolution to digital
Global media experience
Ability to translate, understand, guide and evaluate media analytics tools and technology to ensure they will build and deliver more effective media plans
Deep understanding of media best practices
Highly collaborative with strong POVs on innovation, evolution and measurement
