Job Description:

The LMS Administrator at MedAvanta-ProPhase (MAPP), a WCG Company, is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and administrating the Learning Management System (LMS), and leveraging the Learning Management System to achieve the highest quality instruction. The LMS Administrator will work closely with the e-Learning team, Sr. Director Clinical Technology, Vice President Clinical Operations, and customers.

Educational Requirements:

  • College degree in education, instructional design, system analytics, information technology, or related field is preferred.

Qualifications / Experience:


  • 2+ years experience configuring, maintaining, and administrating a Learning Management System (LMS)

  • Skilled in the use of some or all of these: Linux, PHP, MySQL, Apache, Moodle LMS.

  • Experience utilizing SQL

  • Skilled in setting roles, permissions, capabilities, and contexts in administering role-based functional security and content policies.

  • Deconstructing and repurposing components of an existing role-based security model to realize new functionality and privacy requirements.

  • Use of plugins that extend the existing functionality of a system, and experience with this in Moodle, Drupal, Wordpress, or other similar platforms.

  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.

Essential Duties / Requirements:


  • Ensures that the Learning Management System (LMS) works smoothly and efficiently.

  • Configures the LMS to best support identified educational objectives, including role definition, plug-in configuration, and inter-system operations.

  • Ensures stability, uptime, service level targets, security, scheduled maintenance, and installations on the LMS.

  • Helps coordinate the communication, testing, installation, and migration to new versions of the LMS.

  • Provides day-to-day issue resolution and end-user support of the LMS, including participating in end user testing for new updates/releases, bug fixes, and possible issues.

  • Ensures disaster recovery policies are adhered to for the LMS and performs the restoration of LMS content when needed.

  • Researches and stays current with relevant data on new technologies, trends, and approaches to assist in support of the LMS.

  • Collaborates with third-party companies and internal staff to evaluate, test, implement, and maintain external tools within the LMS.

  • Maintains, catalogs, and communicates known issues, user needs, and feature requests that pertain to the LMS.

  • Serve as liaison between client and product team as required; escalate issues through the proper channels and work with escalation point person to achieve issue resolution

  • Develop, build and maintains all elements related to LMS functionality, including but not limited to content integrations and creation, curriculum programs, LMS structure, and reporting.

  • Develop standardized LMS operational processes and procedures, guidelines and documentation and ensures LMS governance model is being followed.

  • Ensure that training content is running properly at all times within the various learning platforms - without interruption, quality degradation, and without experiencing any avoidable technical issues that could diminish the overall user experience.
