Senior Network Engineer

Responsibilities
Design, install, configure, and maintain networking equipment and services to support theglobal enterprise WAN & LAN environments
Subject matter expert on enterprise application network stack components, including Cisco Nexus platforms, F5 LTM/DNS, Palo Alto firewalls and Juniper EX series switches.
Work with various departments on current initiatives and challenges.
Provide input on the future architecture of the enterprise network, while taking in requirements from stakeholders in various internal organizations
Manage several high-profile enterprise network related projects at a given time
Participate in requirements/architecture discussions, design reviews, UAT, and deployment/training processes of various projects and products
Determine operational weaknesses within the existing network infrastructure, and present execution plans to remediate problem areas.
Interact with other teams to provide escalation support during outages or internal customer issues.
Generate and update documentation on procedures and network topologies
Implementation and enforcement of existing and self-designed security measures and policies to protect Equinix from both external and internal attacks and/or abuses.
Travel may be required to meet project objectives. Approximately <5% travel.
Qualifications
7+ years of network engineering experience in global large-scale enterprise and data-center environments
Strong technical background covering Layer 3 protocols (BGP/OSPF) in large scale designs
In-depth knowledge and experience with the design and implementation of switched and routed networks and associated protocols: TCP/IP, NAT, STP, 802.1q, vPC, BFD
Expert experience with large carrier networks and connectivity such as EPL, VPLS, MPLS, ISP
Expert experience implementing Cisco or Juniper network infrastructure
Strong experience architecting F5 networks LTM/DNS
Strong Palo Alto engineering and deployment experience
Network security experience around securing network designs using firewalls, protocols and features.
Experience automating network tasks with tools such as ansible and python
Meraki Wi-Fi technologies and associated design experience
Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) and/or 802.1x deployments
Hands-on experience with hybrid cloud architectures using AWS, Azure, Google, VMware cloud, etc.
Ability to work as a member of a cross-functional team.
Ability to document solutions with Visio, Word, and PowerPoint
Bachelor's degree
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, management, and peers
