Your role



Newmont is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for the Fixed Asset Process Maintenance Crusher and ADR team. Person shall be responsible for the maintenance and repair of electrical systems throughout the Crushing and Adsorption Desorption Recovery Plants. This role is accountable for completing all approved electrical work within the fixed plant areas above, ensuring that all work is delivered safely, on time and within budget. This role will have no direct reports.





What you will do



•    Safety of yourself and the team members 

•    Offers constructive solutions to electrical problems and issues

•    Read, comprehend and interpret technical data sheets, schematics and blue prints

•    Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including basic wiring, circuit installation, cables and switch gear up to 15kv.

•    Able to troubleshoot and repair lighting fixtures, shop equipment and power tools

•    Knowledge of control systems

•    Read, comprehend and interpret the National Electrical Code and install and maintain according to the NEC guidelines

•    Troubleshoot, inspect, repair and install electric motors

•    Understand basic operation of programmable logic controllers (PLC’s)

•    Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drives (VFD’s)

•    Perform annual ground check inspections on all fixed plant equipment and tools

•    Skilled in use of voltmeter, amp meters and related test equipment to measure and analyze power and instrumentation circuits for defects

•    Inspect, test and maintain all instrumentation including transducers, zero speed switches, level indicator switches, flow indicators, air/electric valves and associated instrumentation

•    Understand fixed plant electrical systems to assist with design, planning and review of electrical projects when needed

•    Understand maintenance reliability to reduce unplanned downs and re-do work

•    Ensure that work history and completion information is captured electronically

•    Ensure that all statutory PM’s are completed on time and captured electronically

Your training, skills and experience checklist



•    Experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical equipment used in the industrial or mining industries required

•    Electrical and instrumentation experience of 2+ years preferred

•    Strong focus on continuous improvement

Working Conditions and location



This role is based at our Cripple Creek and Victor site.




The salary range offered for this overtime-eligible role is $63,600 - $83,475. The salary range is tied to the Colorado market for jobs performed in Colorado. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.  The salary offer will not be based on a candidate’s salary history at other jobs, and by law, Newmont will not seek information about salary history, and candidates should not share such information with Newmont.  

This role will be eligible for participation in a discretionary annual bonus program, pursuant to which an employee may be awarded a percentage of their salary based on the company’s performance and their own individual performance.
