The Industrialization Engineer is a core member of the Manufacturing Transformation group with the exciting mission: "To accelerate SRG Global's factory of the future (FoTF) through exploration and implementation of transformational technologies, to solve current & future challenges in order to create & maintain an edge in manufacturing excellence". In this role, the industrialization engineer will collaborate with the cross functional teams and plant partners to develop automation solutions utilizing new & upgraded technologies, from opportunity evaluation to RFQ development to solution hand-off. He/She will collaborate with the CFT to prioritize equipment launch process including while managing vendors. He/She will also help plants build a foundation of industrial engineering through a lean and value stream approach.
What You Will Do In Your Role
Major Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Partner with the process platforms to analyze the value stream of new product and designing solutions to realize optimal value creation through automation, and lights-out manufacturing while developing equipment of the future.
Partner with the different capabilities such as Product Engineering to improve and standardize product designs to support fully automated manufacturing solutions.
Champion and manage new launches and automation projects by partnering with the plant partners globally. This consists of all project launch phases such as: Opportunity evaluation, concept design, proof of concept, specification development through RFQs, business case & ROI development, integration supplier selection, technical reviews, project & budget management, and solution qualification (Facility Acceptance Testing & Site Acceptance Testing) all through the iPSO.
Design, develop, program, and implement proof of concepts at the SRG Global plant locations.
Lead Industrialization Events at the different plant sites for upcoming projects based on priorities and program launches.
Attend tradeshows and network with vendors, customers, Koch affiliates, and industry experts to develop innovative & transformative technologies relating to automated equipment solutions.
Maintain and regularly share project timelines and updates to the extended SRG Global teams.
Develop cell layouts based on process requirements, efficient material flows and facility layout design principles.
Collaborate with packaging design to create packaging solutions for optimal material flow as well as space constraints.
Generate accurate capital and expense cost estimates associated with alternative equipment solutions.
Identify & evaluate vision & robotics technologies, and solution providers. Actively participate in product design reviews (CDRs) and ensure preferred attachment methods are utilized.
Keep track of lessons learned and ensure knowledge libraries are timely populated. Standardize and maintain equipment standards such as: controls, I/Os, PLC programs, and robot programming.
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
BS/MS in Robotics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Strong industrial engineering background.
Strong background in lean principles such as visual management, connected processes, pull systems, problem solving, and critical thinking.
2-4 Years of experience with installation and ramping up of robotics solutions, automated assembly equipment, and production lines.
Proven project management experience implementing high value, complex capital equipment & systems while demonstrating influence and leadership.
Exceptional analytical and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage complex projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty.
Able to perform process flow analysis & time/motion studies Proficient in Value Stream Mapping - Current & Future State.
Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs.
Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal skills. Change agent working with and through others.
Experience in developing equipment and tooling suppliers with a focus of mutual benefit.
Strong Business/Financial Acumen.
Est. 15-35% Travel Requirements
Must be able to work and be based at one of our US facilities - in office 20-40% of the time.
