Amerisure is currently recruiting for a Vice President, Innovation & Transformation to support our Farmington Hills Headquarter. The ideal candidate will also possess the following skill set. 

Summary Statement

Leads transformational change and continuous improvement at Amerisure including Innovation, Enterprise Portfolio Management, Business Process Management and Business Agility. Advises Amerisure leadership on emerging technologies or trends that may influence strategy or business operations. Delivers select innovative solutions in support of business outcomes and insurance experiences. Leads the department strategy and development and execution of business process management and enterprise projects. Leads the corporate agile maturity journey through delivery of training, methodologies, and tools. Supports the strategic initiative prioritization process which aligns, prioritizes and resources cross-functional initiatives for optimal agency and customer value.

Essential Tasks/Major Duties


  • Lead and direct staff in area of responsibility with an emphasis on talent management and succession planning in accordance with the company’s strategic direction.

  • Advise senior leadership on innovation advances with potential to enable or impact business operations or strategy.

  • Develop and execute multi-year innovation plan and portfolio, through assessment of current business capabilities and identification and prioritization of opportunities.

  • Leads steering committee charged with delivering innovations that impact agency relationships and service.

  • Partner with internal business partners, external vendors and customers to drive the delivery of solutions in support of business operations and strategy.

  • Maintains current and relevant knowledge and relationships with industry data groups.

  • Partner with Amerisure Holding Company to recommend appropriate financial investment in relevant industry data groups, insurtechs, or technologies.

  • Oversee methodology and forum for the categorization, quantification & prioritization of strategic investments including linkages to resource allocation and return on investment analysis.

  • Ensure defined project methodologies provide structure for predictable delivery standards, metrics, milestones, and outcomes.

  • Accountable for successful execution of corporate portfolio.

  • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness of the business process management team through the ‘end to end’ design and improvement of our various processes.  

  • Lead agile strategy, driving adoption of agile culture, values, tools, and methods across the organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience.

  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience.

  • 5 years financial services/insurance industry experience preferred.

  • 5 years project management experience.

  • 3 years progressively responsible experience developing and implementing digital products and services.

  • Experience or exposure to industry standard business process methodologies such as lean six sigma preferred.

  • Familiarity with design thinking or other innovation and experimentation processes, preferred.

  • Experience leading insurance core system or ERP implementations.

  • Ability to lead and manage organizational change with ability to predict, recognize and manage cultural and technological changes within the organization and to promptly prescribe corresponding transitions.

  • Strong technology industry relationships with knowledge of the insurance industry.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate technical capability into business opportunity.

  • Strong leadership capability with experience in building and leading highly successful teams.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively build relationships across all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to think strategically with supporting analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Ability to lead discussions, make presentations and deliver technical results to a non-technical audience.

  • Ability to travel overnight up to 10%.
