This position reports to the Regional Group President and will be part of the regional management team.
This position interacts with the Global Division President, Director of R&D and staff, Global Business Directors, other Global Business Development leaders and Regional business development leads.
Job dimensions
The position will be responsible for driving the global Thiochemicals business development strategy for the Polymers market with a strong emphasis on the Heavy Mercaptans business.It encompasses managing the portfolio of business development projects through the Gate process in a timely and efficient manner to commercialization and initial sales.
This position will also carry regional responsibility for Business Development projects, particular to Polythiols and other specialty products.
The third major component is driving the marketing development, intelligence and strategy for growth as it relates to NBD.This includes technological assessments, SWOT analyses, and competitive landscape for existing and new markets.
Key Activities and responsibilities
Global Business Development for the worldwide polymer market (60%)
Identify and develop new opportunities through direct interaction with the global customer base and end users (identifying needs and opportunities), tradeshow participation, monitoring of competitive activity and emerging technologies. Obtain, develop and maintain accurate information on market trends, emerging technologies, and characterization of our competitors' products and activities.Develop an assessment, by market segment, our capability to compete from both an internal and customer perspective.Prepare and manage a 5-year growth pipeline for new business development and track the growth for NBD
Regional Business Development(30%)
Regional Management of other Global business/product development initiatives for the North American market.Support qualified opportunities with comprehensive market analysis, competitive review and commercial potential for the Thiochemicals NA business.
