OVERVIEW

Merchandise Finance Manager/Director is responsible for the ownership of consumer brands seasonal planning, performance analysis, reporting, and forecasting. Creates, summarizes, and analyzes a variety of financial data, maintains and updates financial models and plans, and prescribes business remedies and process improvements. Provides financial analysis and develops comprehensive projections for the organization in support of functional business objectives. Has in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in own discipline.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts financial research, analyzes financial performance against objectives and identifies emerging financial trends and best business course to capitalize or correct.


• Owns all aspects of the consumer brands’ seasonal plan, forecast and on-going results tracking.  Collaborates with business unit owners on creation of plan and forecast as it primarily pertains to sales, margin and inventory.


• Provides rationale behind reports and analysis and relays them in simple terms.


• Provides on-going guidance for product pricing, including promotions, with a focus on profitability.


• Supports planning and performance analysis on consumer brands private label credit card program. 


• Creates and maintains statistical/financial databases and reports. Runs appropriate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports.

• Advises department leadership in performance opportunities and prioritizations of key strategies to improve financial and operational performance.


• Participates in continuous improvement process review, assisting in providing data and analysis for improvements.


• Collaborates with external vendor partners as it pertains to the business function. 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent.


• REQUIRED - Expertise in one of the following areas: Merchandising or related revenue, cost and inventory analysis.


• 5-7 years’ experience in various job-related areas including budgeting, financial analysis, accounting, forecasting and business planning.


• To ensure service levels, it is essential that the individual in this role be able to work a regular and reliable schedule as provided by management.


• Given the significant responsibilities of this role, it is essential that this role be filled on a full-time basis only.


• It is essential that the duties of this role be performed on-site at iMedia’s facility.
