Weld Shop Team Lead at High Concrete Group, LLC

Our Weld Shop Team Leader will handle the daily planning, directing, training, implementation and general supervision of one's assigned area. The Leadperson of the Welders is accountable to meet production schedules within budgeted times, and meet or exceed the quality standards. The Leadperson will also be proficient in all operations of the department: Welder and Journeyperson. 

Typical day involves the following:


  • Trains and develops new coworkers in the areas of on-the-job training, safety rules and regulations and policies & procedures

  • Assist the Supervisor with cross-training and development of existing coworkers

  • Provide feedback to the supervisor on manpower planning and utilization within the department

  • Direct team's daily activities to achieve planned production schedules by making decisions on the complexity of the job and input from the Supervisor - Production. Responsibilities do not include hiring, firing, pay increases or discipline however support is given to the supervisor in decisions in these areas

  • Pre-plan daily and weekly deck schedules for ordering parts

  • Assist in the piece sequence scheduling of products produced in one's area as requested by Production Supervisor or Scheduler

  • Provide regular coworker communication including: conducting Tool Box Talks, MDI meetings, etc.

  • Upholds an attitude of safety and awareness in one's department

  • Maintains and submits all records and reports

  • Takes corrective action within the scope of one's authority whenever productivity, quality or safety concerns arise; while keeping one's Supervisor appraised of such situations

  • Provide regular, verbal and written performance updates to Supervisor and assist with annual performance appraisals

  • Provide proposals recommending improvements to forming, process and plant operations

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Three (3) or more years of Welding experience

  • Proven ability to read blueprints

  • Valid Driver's License and Crane Certification is required
