Responsibilities:

Woodard & Curran is seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Technician to join our dedicated and talented team at our Public Water Supply District #2 / East Central Missouri Project.  This position is for the Wright City service area and includes:

• Operation and maintenance of three wastewater treatment plants (lagoon, sequencing batch reactor, and membrane bioreactor)


• Operation and maintenance of a water distribution system that includes 225,00 linear feet of pipe, two water towers, three wells, and a booster station.


• Operation and maintenance of a wastewater collection system that includes approximately 188,000 linear foot of gravity main, 53,000 linear foot of force main, 18 lift stations.


• Cleans and maintains facilities, buildings, lagoons, and grounds.


• Operates a variety of machinery and heavy equipment such as skid steer, excavator, vacuum/jetter truck.


• Performs record keeping/data entry. Records daily reading of equipment and processes.


• Responds to and resolves customer complaints as needed.


• Participates in an on-call rotation on weekends, holidays and outside normal workday hours.


• Will be required to respond to emergency or unpredictable situations.


• Assist other O&M crews as needed.

Qualifications:

• Missouri wastewater treatment plant operator’s license preferred or willing to obtain within 1 year of employment.


• A valid Missouri motor vehicle operator's license.Will require obtaining a Class B CDL within 6 months of hire.


• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in water and/or wastewater treatment and/or operations.


• Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation and maintenance of water and/or wastewater treatment facilities, distribution systems and collection systems.


• Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in water and/or wastewater treatment work.


• Knowledge of the operation and preventative maintenance of a variety of equipment


• Knowledge of small engine repair and maintenance.


• Knowledge of computer applications.


• Ability to assess plant, operation or process performance and report irregularities to supervisors and/or other staff.


• Skilled in the operation of assigned specialized equipment.


• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
